‘ An eye on I’

As a gate crasher I attended an excellent workshop ‘ An eye on I’ conducted by Liyo Yoga Society (LIYOS) on 26 August 2012.  Sriramsir conducted the whole session, mesmerized all of us with his scintillating speech and a few enthralling  nature videos. As the very name suggests the theme of the workshop is about ego (I) that everyone possesses in abundance, knowingly or unknowingly. The speech started on an encouraging note that the participants have already realized  that they have ego, a fact which suggests that they have less ego. The lecture was structured and progressed well starting from ‘introduction to ego’ to ‘the practical action plan to manage it’.  Ego is immense and enormous in dimension which needs constant pruning in a spiritual saloon. However tonsure is not the solution because the complete absence of ego is not desirable.

The speech was lively, with lots of examples and practical tips to manage ego. He made a distinction between enjoyment and celebration and how taming ego would make us celebrate our lives. I should thank LIYOS for organizing such an excellent workshop (and also for allowing me at the nick of time). We may need such workshops once in a while to clean us of our ego. LIPS & Life

He coined an acronym LIPS and made a few observations that could help one to be successful in day today life. I wish to share them with you.

In nature every human being has three basic emotions that are to be taken care of. If one realizes them in others, he could establish strong human relations.

Firstly everyone wants to be loved. LOVE is the thing everybody needs in life. One has to express it through his talk, acts and deeds.

Secondly INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS. Everyone feels that he is important. It is our duty to make one feel that he is important through our talk, acts and deeds.

Thirdly PRAISE. A very important aspect in human beings is that one always expects praise from others. So praise people profusely. This can be done verbally and also through our acts and deeds.

Finally STAB people. If a person is stabbed in these three ways what oozes from him is not blood but love. Stab people with this TRIDENT of love.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR.

Today is the birthday of Sriram sir, the teacher who could make you rich without giving you anything. In fact he made us discover divinity in nature. Let’s wish him a happy birthday.

Book Release- ‘In Search of Mother’

‘In Search of Mother’ is the biography of Sriramsir by Sri.Venkatakrishna. This was first published in 1997. The second print is being released on 1^st May 2011. It seems a few photos are being added this time by Sripathy, a well known Telugu writer. The Book release function starts at 9am at RTC Kalyanamantapam, RTC X-roads, Hyderabad.

Book Review ( Divinity in Nature)

New Year Greetings

When I wished sir on 1^st January he talked about New Year greetings. As I was traveling I could not jot down the points. But I am able to recollect only three thought provoking points that he spoke.

You can wish others ‘a happy new year’ only when you are already happy. Are you really happy?

Those people who have it with them can only share or give it to others. So only people who are happy can wish others a happy new year or give happiness to others. So are you happy?

Above all when do we wish for something? Only when we do not have it with us, we wish for it. Don’t we have it in abundance? Do we need the wishes now?
